As part of Prospect Mountain High School's dedication to providing students with a well-balanced curriculum that will prepare them for the world around them, we offer students the opportunity to study foreign languages and cultures. Currently, PMHS offers Spanish, French and Latin in a variety of levels and difficulties.
The goals of the World Languages Department at PMHS are:
To use all of the technology at our disposal to develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing of the target language.
To provide students with a non-threatening, relaxed environment conducive to practicing newly acquired skills.
To expose students to a variety of cultural stimuli in order to connect language study with actual populations around the world.
To make students aware of the concept of global interdependence.
To have students become familiar with the relationship between second language skills and future career development.
