Paper Guidelines

To ensure that your paper is professional, neat, clean and free of errors, follow the guidelines below. Your teacher may not require that all of these guidelines be met. Anyone considering college should start to present all of their papers in the following format. It is good to get into the habit now.

  • Word-processed or typed
  • Always use type size 10 - 12, fonts: Arial, Times New Roman or Courier
  • Use clean white sheets of paper
  • Use black ink only
  • Follow MLA guidelines
  • Use 1" margins around the entire page
  • ALWAYS double space
  • Make sure to cite all information correctly
  • Ensure that your heading follows the MLA format
  • Make sure you properly cite all of your sources
  • Include a "Works Cited Page"
