Every fall the Prospect Mountain High School Counseling Department facilitates the administration of the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery). The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test which assesses aptitude in the critical areas including Arithmetic Reasoning, Word Knowledge, Paragraph Comprehension and Mathematics Knowledge.  The ASVAB score determines a student's eligibility to enlist in the U.S. military and how qualified they are for certain military occupational specialties.  Students not interested in pursuing a military career can still use the ASVAB for career exploration.  The test offers an interest inventory which helps students identify work related interests and associated career fields/potential occupations that might be a good match.

Students can practice for the ASVAB with online resources or books available in the Counseling office.
